Generating a sitemap

Tuskfish can automatically generate a sitemap of your content for use by search engines. In the Admin section of your site, select Settings => Update sitemap, and it will be saved as sitemap.txt in your webroot, ie. yoursite.com/sitemap.txt. You can submit this URL to search engines such as Google.

At present the sitemap does not rebuild automatically (I am debating the wisdom of this), but it may do so in future. For now, just refresh it periodically when you think it is necessary. It is of most use in helping search engines to find content that is not displayed or linked in the front page stream, ie. tags and static pages.

The sitemap does not list content that is marked offline. It is a plain text sitemap.

The sitemap can be automatically rebuilt / updated on a daily basis by enabling the maintainance cron job.
